This Week in the World: a simple weekly habit for CAS coordinators

Every week, I'll be sharing a short briefing: one global story, five inquiry questions, and three possible CAS directions (Creativity, Activity, Service) — plus TOK, subject, and SDG connections for anyone who wants to go further. Here's how to use it:

🔹 Read the questions — pick 1-2 to raise with your students this week, in a CAS meeting, advisory, or informally.

🔹 Offer the CAS directions to any student stuck for ideas — starting points, not assignments. Let them adapt.

🔹 Use the TOK/subject/SDG links when you want to connect a student's CAS journey to the rest of their programme.

No project needs to come out of every issue. The goal isn't more activities — it's helping students notice that every global event raises real questions, and having a ready answer when a student asks "what could I do for CAS?"

If a story doesn't land with your group, no problem — next week brings a new one.
